Kerala CPI Leader Slips Into A Canal During Rescue Operation:- Kerala has been badly hit with the heavy rains which affected the state badly. The floods and the landslides killed hundreds and left lakhs people homeless. The rescue operations are on and the state has been flooded with donations after the state's Chief Minister requested to help the state. CPI leader TS Chandran who has been busy with the rescue operations died in Kuttanad in Alappuzha district last night.
During the rescue operations, Chandran slipped into a canal when he went to buy some materials for the relief camp in Kaanjipaddam. When he never returned, people started searching and his body was recovered later. His family too was living in the same camp and Chandran was quite active in the relief activities from the past one week. He did not notice the water inflow and walked on the road as there was no other connectivity. Chandran is a member of CPI Ambalapuzha North local committee and was its former secretary. Chandran's body was cremated last evening.
