Union Home Ministry Approves 17 Districts In Telangana:- After Telangana Government requested for 31 districts in the newly formed state, the Union Home Ministry approved 17 districts which left the state government in shock. With 10 districts in the state, 21 new districts have been created on October 11th 2016. The Union Home Ministry asked Telangana government to come up with a detailed report and merge the other districts making the final count 17 in the state.

With 17 Parliament constituencies in the state, 17 districts have been approved. Adilabad, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Warangal, Mancherial, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Kamareddy and Nagarkurnool are the 17 districts of Telangana.
