“The Musi River never supplied water to even 20,000 acre till now due to bad condition of canals and leakage in the crest gates,” the Minister explained.

Within 18 months of finalising the tenders, the works will be completed, assured Mr. Rao to the House. The irrigation water would be supplied to 15,000 acre under 22 villages along the left canal and under the right canal, once the modernisation of Musi river project canal works is completed, said the Minister. Moreover, water would be supplied to 14,000 acre covering three mandals of Suryapet district.
