Raghuram Rajan Offered Rajya Sabha Seat By AAP?:- A Rajya Sabha seat from Delhi has been offered to former Governor of Reserve Bank of India, Raghuram Rajan reportedly by Aam Aadmi Party.

Rajan was already considering the offer, as per a report published in a leading news paper. For the term of six years, the state elects three members and the state legislator indirectly elects them.

The party is set to send three members to the Rajya Sabha, given the AAP's historic victory in 2015. And Delhi already has three RS seats.

His spectacular fall out on economic policies with the Narendra Modi government, assumes the choice of Rajan. PM Modi had declined to offer him a second term. On September 2013, Rajan was appointed as the 23rd RBI Governor by the UPA government. On 4 September 2016, his term ended.

As per the report, his presence in the Upper House will be a cause of embarrassment for the government, if Rajan accepts the offer.
