CPI (M) Member Arrested For Hitting A Pregnant Lady:- Antonio Williams, a panchayat member from the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) was arrested for hitting a pregnant lady in Kollam in Kerala.

The bizarre incident happened when their car was brushed against the victim’s and that is when Antonio and his friends attacked the lady. The incident occurred when Antonio was travelling with his friends. It was reported on Thursday. The CPI (M) member and other accused were also under the influence of alcohol, said the police officers.

When their car was brushed against by the lady’s car, an altercation broke out informed the police officers. The lady was dragged out of the car by the CPI (M) member and his friends and started hitting the lady in her stomach. When she was attacked, the lady was going for her routine check-up.

“There were many people, and one of them got the car door and dragged me out and kicked me in my stomach. I fell because of the pain,” a leading news channel quoted the victim as saying. Three persons have been taken into custody for creating a ruckus, said the police officers.

Under IPC section 332 and 353 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), the accused were booked.
