HMDA Prepares Masterplan To Develop 12 Logistic Parks Along Hyd ORR:- To promote goods transport sector in the State and develop the city into a logistics hub for South India, plans are on the anvil to develop 12 logistic parks along the stretch of Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR).

A master plan has been prepared by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), for the logistic hub. Moreover, it has taken up development of two logistic parks on public-private partnership mode at Mangalpally and Batasingaram.

Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, revealing the future plans in this regard during the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, said that at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore, the logistics park at Mangalpally was being taken up in 22 acres and at an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore, the one at Batasingaram is being developed in 40 acres.

“These two projects are being taken up on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis with land lease period of 33 years. The HMDA will have a revenue share on operations without requiring any capital investment by HMDA or the State government,” he explained. Employment to nearly 900 persons, are expected to create by these two logistics parks.

Based on demand and requirement, similar logistic parks are being planned at other places along the ORR, the Minister explained further. The issues pertaining to connecting radial roads, truck parking lots, warehousing, cold storages, office space, automobile service centres, vehicle testing centres, dormitories and restaurants, among others would be addressed by the government, assured KTR on responding to suggestions from the legislators

“Hyderabad has the potential to develop into a logistics hub which was also pointed out by the Parliamentary Committee during its recent visit. We are ready to create necessary infrastructure and opportunities,” he added.
