Earlier, India’s first vaccine vehicle (a two-wheeler) was launched by Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy in May this year. The Minister, during the launch proposed that like vaccine vehicle, a two-wheeler ambulance too would be launched in Telangana.
According to senior health officials, the new two-wheeler ambulances are launched as the current 108 vehicles are unable to enter into congested streets in several parts of the city. Moreover, for emergency patients who reside in areas where a big 108 ambulance cannot move freely through the traffic, it was becoming a logistical nightmare.
The two-wheeler ambulances are also expected to reach interior colonies of Hyderabad, in addition to reaching the patients quickly by beating the traffic, and provide emergency care to the patients.
