Kovind To Participate In Abdul Kalam’s Birth Anniversary Celebrations:- A statement by the A P J Abdul Kalam International Foundation said on Thursday, that President Ram Nath Kovind has unveiled his plans to participate in the 86th birth anniversary celebrations of the late president, A P J Abdul Kalam. The celebrations are scheduled to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday.

Kovind will interact with the family members of Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan and receive the Kalam Sandesh Vahini: Vision 2020 bus. After traveling through 16 states, the Kalam Sandesh Vahini is expected to arrive on the day, spreading the message about Kalam’s vision, it said.

On July 27 this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the bus. A rally - Clean and Green India - from India Gate is also expected to be flagged off by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

A large number of students are expected to participate in it. S M Khan said it was important to carry forward the late president’s vision for the youth. Khan had served as press secretary to Kalam and is an advisor to the Kalam Foundation.

To commemorate Kalam’s 86th birth anniversary, the foundation has been conducting 86 events, since October 1 in New Delhi, Chennai and Rameshwaram.
