Amaravati To Have 18 Towers Of Luxury Flats For MLAs, Officers:- According to an official statement that was released on Wednesday, the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati will have as many as 18 towers of luxury flats for Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and All India Service (AIS) officers.

Every flat will have a built-up area of 3,500 sq ft and a clubhouse and parking will be included in the towers. The progress on the housing project for government employees, was reviewed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, at a meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).

The Team One India Pvt. Ltd presented Naidu designs for the towers and villas and blueprints and layouts of houses. According to a statement from CMO, the NCC, L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji have been finalized as the contractors, for the completion of the housing project within the next six months.

The administration sanction for the housing has been revised to Rs 2,652 crore by Naidu, from the previous proposed cost of Rs 1,991 crore. The non-gazetted officers will have 22 towers with each flat comprising built-up area of 1,200 sq feet. Type 1 Gazetted officers will have 8 towers (1,800 sq feet) and Type 2 Gazetted officers will have 7 towers (1,500 sq feet). Class IV officers will have six towers with flats of 900 sq feet.

The Chief Minister was informed by Benjamin Yap, that the progress of different housing projects near the capital region is positive. Mr. Yap has now become the Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Consortium in Amaravati.

Naidu also announced that for learning about the best practices in business and entrepreneurship, all the selected 123 farmers from the capital region will be sent to Singapore. The Chief Minister gave the approval for more farmers, while the original plan was for sending 100 farmers.

“Their transition into the entrepreneurship sector must be smooth, so we must ensure that skill building is a continuous process,” he said. They are among the farmers who have given their lands for development of the state capital. Moreover, the officials were instructed by Naidu to make clear milestones, and ensure that all 32,000 families of the region are empowered, and become self-sustainable.

Around 32 acres of land will be allotted by the CRDA to 8 top schools to set up their campuses in Amaravati. Out of the 11 top schools in the country, eight have responded positively. The officials were told by the Chief Minister to encourage more boarding schools, so that students from other states can also live here and study. The establishment of a state level command centre, was approved by Naidu and allocated two acres for the same. The set-up of a golf course across 70 acres, for national level events was also approved by Naidu.
