Banwarilal Purohit Sworn In As 25th Governor Of Tamil Nadu:- Tamil Nadu State has got its new Governor, Banwarilal Purohit  as the 25th Governor. The oath of office to Purohit was administered by the Chief Justice of Madras High Court, Justice Indira Banerjee, at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Chennai. Purohit took oath in the name of God.

Among those present at the ceremony were Chief Minister K Palanisamy, his cabinet colleagues, and DMK Working President and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly MK Stalin.

Earlier, the Warrant of Appointment issued by President Ram Nath Kovind, appointing Purohit as Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 29, was read out by Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan. Since the retirement of K Rosaiah in August 2016, He is the first full-time Governor of the state. Since September 2016, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao had been given additional charge of the state.
