AP Govt Felicitates Vice Prez Venkaiah Naidu in Vijayawada:- The Andhra Pradesh government has felicitated Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday in Vijayawada.

Naidu who came for the first time to the State after assuming charge as the Vice President received a rousing welcome from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Governor ESL Narasimhan at Gannavaram airport in the city.

Central Union Ministers, state Ministers, TDP leaders were also present to receive the Vice President. Naidu was taken in a special vehicle from the airport to Vijayawada. Venkaiah Naidu said that he would discharge his duties in an unbiased and with utmost responsibility, maintain decorum and dignity of the position.

Speaking on the occasion of civic felicitation, the Vice President admitted that during the time of state bifurcation, Andhra pradesh state was meted out a raw deal. Naidu said even though he was not representing Andhra Pradesh, in getting equal justice to the state, he fought against the government with all his strength in Rajya Sabha.

“During my stint in Delhi, I tried my best in getting IIT, IIM, Polavaram project, CIPET, Defence unit and so on to Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

“I toured more than 600 districts in the country, I have seen several governments in my entire 40 years of political career, I swear no state has benefitted financial assistance from the centre as Andhra Pradesh has gained,” he remarked.
