Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against AP Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao:- The Anakapalli Additional Civil Court Judge has issued a non-bailable warrant against Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

The NBW was issued pertaining to the violation of the Election code in the 2009 Assembly polls. Under the newly-formed Praja Rajyam Party (PPP), Rao contested for Anakapalle assembly constituency and won the election. It was alleged that Rao, to lure the voters, distributed cricket kits and sarees to youngsters in Anakapalle Assembly segment region.

A surprise raid was conducted based on the complaints from a few people, including the leaders and activists of Congress and TD. The officials seized the cricket kits and sarees on April 3, 2009.

A case has been registered under Section of 171 (E) of IPC by the Anakapalle Town Police against Srinivas Rao. Though the court had issued several notices to Rao, to appear before the court, he ignored the notice.

Judge J.V.S. Satyanarayana Murthy issued NBW against Ganta on Wednesday and the next hearing of the case will be on September 11. The NBW against Srinivas Rao was confirmed by Superintendent of Police (Visakha Rural) Rahul Dev Sharma.
