Modi Hails SC Judgment On Triple Talaq As “Historic”:- The Supreme Court verdict on triple talaq has been hailed as “historic” by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and said it grants equality to Muslim women.

He said, for women empowerment the judgment will serve as a powerful measure. By a 3:2 majority verdict, the Supreme Court set aside the practice of divorce through triple talaq among Muslims. It said the practice was void, illegal unconstitutional, arbitrary and “not part of Islam”.

“Judgement of the Hon’ble SC on Triple Talaq is historic.It grants equality to Muslim women and is a powerful measure for women empowerment,” the prime minister tweeted.
