KTR Affirms To Contest From Sircilla Constituency Until In Power:- IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has asserted as long as he is in politics, he would contest from Sircilla Assembly constituency.
KTR rubbished the reports that he was toying with the idea of contesting the next election from some other constituency. He told media persons in an informal chat that such statements were only false propaganda by the opposition.
The Minister, exuding confidence that K Chandrashekhar Rao would once again lead the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to victory in the 2019 general elections, said the BJP will not win even five seats in the next election. “People of Telangana State are keenly observing the developmental activities carried out by the TRS government,” he said.
The membership of 70 lakh party members as well as their details were digitalized. The party workers would also be given insurance cover, said Mr. Rama Rao.
The Minister speaking on the Nerella issue, said he was not aware of the incident as the local party workers failed to alert him. “The government has ordered an inquiry and if the report reveals that police had overstepped the line, action would be taken against them,” he said, and quipped: “Why would we ask the police to go against our own people.”
On TRS retaining power in the State in 2019, Rama Rao said even TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Jana Reddy have no doubts on this count. “When all parties join hands, it is indication of the strength of TRS,” he said.
