KCR Announces 1 Cr Cash Reward For Mithali Raj

KCR Announces 1 Cr Cash Reward For Mithali Raj:- A cash reward of Rs 1 crore for India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj was announced by Chief Minister KCR on Friday.

Mithali Raj, called on KCR at Pragathi Bhavan immediately on arrival. The Chief Minister congratulating Mithali for her stupendous performance in the recently-concluded Women’s World Cup lauded her efforts in taking the team to the world cup finals besides recording the highest runs by an individual. The Chief Minister also announced that a plot of land measuring not less than 600 sq yards in Banjara Hills would be given to her.   

The Chief Minister said, “You played wonderfully at the World Cup. We thought you would surely to win the final too. Unfortunately, we lost by a slender margin. But yet your team performed well and the whole nation watched your performance. I also watched the match. You played very well in this tournament. You have set a record by scoring the highest number of runs”.

KCR further describing Mithali as the pride of Hyderabad and Telangana State said, “You have exhibited a wonderful talent. You should win several victories in future. On behalf of the people of Telangana state and my own behalf, I congratulate you. The government will stand by you.”

The Chief Minister felicitated Mithali with a shawl. Her coach RSR Murthy was also felicitated and he too would receive a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.

Mithali’s parents, Dorai Raj and Leela Raj, DGP Anurag Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mahender Reddy, Additional DG Anjan Kumar, Sports Authority of Telangana State Chairman Venkateswar Reddy, Secretary (Sports) Dinakar Babu and Principal secretary (Sports) Venkatesham were also present on the occasion.
