Nokia Keen To Participate In Telangana Fibre-Grid Programme:- A keen interest has been shown by Nokia, the Finnish mobile manufacturer, in participating in Telangana’s Fibre-grid programme.
An official release said the delegation led by IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, who is on the third day of his United States tour, yesterday interacted with the top leadership of major global corporations, including Nokia.
KTR met President and Head-Global Enterprises and Public Sector and Senior Leadership team Mr Osvaldo Di Campli of Nokia at Mountain View, CA (California).
During the meeting with the Nokia leadership, KTR gave a high level overview of Telangana’s upcoming Fibre-grid project. To participate in the Telangana Fibre-grid project, the nokia team has expressed interest and sought further information about the project, said the release.
KTR also visited the Ericsson Experience Centre at Santa Clara, Silicon Valley. The Ericsson team gave him a sneak peek into the various Innovation Areas they are working on such as IoT, 5G, Augmented Reality, Drones and Machine Learning and Predictive Mobility.
Among the various issues discussed were once the FiberGrid project is up and running, how some of these technologies could be piloted in Telangana. KTR also addressed a round-table discussion on investment priorities and opportunities in Telangana State organized by US India Business Council (USIBC) at Palo Alto, CA.
A Telangana government initiative, Fibre-grid aims to provide internet and data services at doorstep across the state.
