Minister for IT and Industries K.T.Rama Rao, urged the Centre to fund T-fibre project, so as to provide internet connectivity to everyone.
KTR, spent a busy day, yesterday in New Delhi, meeting several Union ministers and seeking funds for various projects. Among the Union Ministers whom KTR met were, Nitin Gadkari, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Union minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha.
Under the T-Fibre project, the Telangana State Government plans to provide internet connection to one crore households. The same was conveyed to Sinha by Mr. KTR. The IT Minister sought financial help from the Centre for the T-Fibre project in advance, so that it could be completed faster. However, Mr. Sinha said Rao that there were certain limitations, in giving advance funds to States, and further suggested KTR to meet Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in this regard. The Telangana Government, will soon submit proposals to Mr Jaitley, said KTR to Mr. Sinha.
Later, KTR met Ms Harsimrat Kaur, and asked for setting up of the four mega food processing parks in Mahubnagar, Nizamabad, and Khammam districts.
