The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), leader and Chittoor MP, Dr. N. Shivaprasad, has raised his voice of dispute, against the party’s high command and AP Chief, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.
Shivaprasad, who is also a doctor by profession, raised his criticism, which has led to a discussion among the TDP seniors, on the eve of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. The MP made allegations against the TDP Goverment, that they have not included scheduled castes (SCs), in the cabinet as per the population ratio. The revolt of the Chittoor MP, against Chandrababu, was reportedly to register his protest, for not referring his name, for the ministerial berth in the Union Cabinet. The intention of the CM, might be, that SCs should not raise their voice, added Shivaprasad.
Chandrababu, often claims to be the true follower of Sri Krishna Deva Raya and Chanakya. If that is true, he has to know about the feelings and emotions of the people, under his rule, which, he has been easily avoiding. In AP, the population of SC and Scheduled Tribes (ST), is around 25%, and in that case, around five berths should be reserved for them in the cabinet, Shivaprasad added. The CM has taken only two into the Council of Ministers and in the Union Cabinet.
While, the TDP offered two positions in the Union Cabinet, the other two were given to other castes (OCs), and in AP also, the Deputy CM position was given to backward classes (BCs). Shivaprasad stated that, perhaps the AP CM, does not want the SCs to occupy esteemed positions.
Dr. Shivaprasad said and added that, “This is not my dissent note, this was the voice of the voiceless SCs and STs in the TDP party. Dr. Shivaprasad, being a senior among the existing TD MPs, expected a berth in the Union Cabinet, but his name was even not considered last time. He expects the berth this time also, but was reportedly sent signal that, in case of any possibility for the TDP to have another berth, that will go to the BCs.
