The counting of votes in Manipur started today after the completion of the Assembly elections. The state is lead by Congress and Okram Ibobi Singh is the Chief Minister of the state. The party has been ruling the state since 2002 and with the entry of BJP, Congress was worried about the Assembly elections this time. BJP and Congress have been fighting neck to neck this time, both the parties have been leading in 15 constituencies each.
Irom Sharmila challenged the Chief Minister and the PRJA Chief managed to just get 90 votes which made her lose by a huge margin against Okram Ibobi Singh. Irom made a promise that she will change the politics in the state. After the defeat, Irom revealed that money and muscle power defeated me. She slammed the voters saying that they have been bribed hugely.
