According to the media reports, a 48-year-old Indian man Jagannathan Selvaraj from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu has covered 1,000 kilometers in Dubai only to get a ticket to India.
Reports said that Selvaraj does not have a single Dirham in his hand, not even to buy a bus ticket to attend the court proceedings. He started to going court after his mother passed away in his hometown in Tamil Nadu. The court has, however, denied him a permission to attend the funeral.
According to the reports, Selvaraj has crossed the distance of 22 kilometers through busy, traffic laden, Dubai highways with extreme heat and sandstorms from his Sonapur accommodation to appear in front of the labor court.
Selvaraj has to make 2 hours one way trip to reach the court by walking and 2 hours more return. He has to present for the every hearing every couple of weeks until the result of the case. Reports said that in the last two years he has attended 50 hearings.
Although few international media has written about the man, the matter has reached to the ears of Indian External minister Sushma Swaraj now. Sushma Swaraj, who has been famous for helping people through Twitter, has tweeted that she had asked about the report of the matter to the Indian embassy in Dubai.
