The newly formed state Telangana is leaving no stone unturned for the temples and the pilgrims all over the state. The government has announced more than Rs 100 crores for the developments of temples and as Godavari Pushkaralu is nearing, the government has been taking steps so that all the 6.5 crore people will take their holi dip in the river comfortably. The proposals are expected to be Rs 920 crores, the Telangana government has been expecting atleast Rs 750 crores from the Centre. These include repair of old bathing ghats and construction of new ghats along with washrooms and changing rooms for women.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR has been taking special care on these activities and announced that the Godavari Pushkaralu will be on the lines of Kumbh Mela. KCR has invited President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the pushkaralu. A committee of ministers along with an IAS officer have been appointed to monitor and take care of the developments in all the five districts Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam in which the Godavari river touches. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh government too has taken this as a special event and is in huge plans to make Godavari Pushkaralu a grand success.
