The 60th Filmfare Awards sponsored by Britannia was held in Yash Raj Studios last Saturday. The stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma and filmmaker Karan Johar played the host roles. The annual award function honoured some of the best Bollywood performances of the year 2014. It was a star-studded event that was highly entertaining as Bollywood personalities came their sizzling stage performances.
Kangana Ranaut's 'Queen' bagged the maximum awards with six while Shahid Kapoor's 'Haider' walked away with five awards. Aamir Khan's 'PK' and Arjun Kapoor's '2 States' won two awards each. Shahid and Kangana are crowned the Best Actor and Actress, however it was 'Queen' which got Best Film award and the film's director Vikas Bahl won the Best Director award. The most hilarious moment of the award ceremony was celebs chewing Deepika Padukone's dress. Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Kapil Sharma grabbed Deepika's gown which had long trail and tried to chew it.
It was a disappointment for Priyanka Chopra whose performances was critically acclaimed from 'Mary Kom.' Alia Bhatt received the Best Actress [Critics] award for 'Highway' while Pakistani actor Fawad Khan who made debut with 'Khoobsurat' won the Best Actor [Debut] award.
