Uber to resume operations in Delhi

The US based online Cab service, Uber will resume its operations in the National capital shorty after it was banned with rape incident by Uber driver. The cab service provider also sent a mail to the rape victim about its comeback and this has surprised her.  According to the sources, Uber has applied for fresh licence under the modified rules of the 2006 Radio Taxi Scheme and a day after applying the licence, Uber sent mails to its customers.

However, one of the transport department official said, “applying licence means it is yet to get a permission, till then no cab of Uber will be seen on the road.” The Special Commission of Police for Traffic said, till an official confirmation arrives from the respective department, Uber services will be considered illegal and will also be not allowed to operate.

The 25 year old rape victim was upset and surprised by this. Very recently, she hired a New York based lawyer and is expected to file a legal suit against Uber in a US court. Interestingly, Uber did not apply licence on its own name but through an Indian subsidiary named Resource Experts India Private Limited. The company has even offered 25 per cent discount to its regular customers.
