Prime Minister Narendra Modi is racing ahead in the micro-blogging site Twitter with millions of followers. An annual global study of world leaders revealed that Modi overtook the United States White House in terms of number of followers.

At present 4,981,777 are following Narendra Modi in Twitter while 4,980,207 are following the White House. Modi has been using Twitter as a powerful tool to convey his message to his followers and people. The study also said, Modi's tweet “India has won!” was retweeted many a times and became very popular.

According to the study, Barack Obama has 43.7 million followers, Pope Francis has 14.09 million and Yudhoyono has 5.06 million followers. The study also estimated that more people could follow Narendra Modi in future and his progress in governance will play a crucial role.
