A woman working for an IT firm in Bangalore had a dark secret. She had bent to parental pressure and married a mechanic 4 months ago, but continued her romance with a long term boyfriend. If that's dark, she had a secret darker still. She conspired with her lover and murdered the husband in cold blood.

The lovers slashed the hapless man's throat with their bare hands. Having planned for it earlier, 24 year old software engineer Sowjanya, arrived in Hyderabad with Venkateshwar Rao on 14th September. She later requested him to take her to Sanghi temple and return via Gandicheruvu road.

On the way, she stopped him on the pretense of attending to nature's call, while her lover Jaideep Deshi  waited in the dark to take Venkateshwar by surprise. With help of another man, Swamy Raj Kumar, the threesome held the husband and slashed his throat. They also stabbed him with the intention to make it appear like a robbery.

Sowjanya then inflicted injuries upon herself and complained to the Hayathnagar police that robbers snatched her magalsutram and killed her husband. However, the cops proved too clever for her and called her bluff on further investigation.

The two men and the woman have now been arrested. Jaideep Deshi was found to hail from West Bengal and had been Sowjanya's classmate from 2008 to 2010 at a Narayanaguda college. The third man is a friend. Sowjanya listened to the devil, instead of taking the road of communication with her family. Expectedly, the devil had the last laugh.
