Following plenty of rains in the past few days, the water reservoirs in Hyderabad are looking much better. Osmansagar and Himayathsagar water levels rose after more than 10 months. Authorities are breathing a sigh of relief with the increasing water levels in these reservoirs.
Officials from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) said it is a good sign, looking at the slightly increased levels. Despite a large amount of rain, water levels increased only slightly, they said.
HMWS&SB managing director J ShyamalaRao told Times of India that the reservoirs will fare even better if there is more rain in the upstream areas. He added that Singur and Manjira water levels have also increased and there is enough Krishna water.
