The situation in old city of Hyderabad was said to be under control. The city police commissioner Anurag Sharma has confirmed the same to the media. He, however, said the security would continue to remain in place. The sources said that in order to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the old city area, the police took the area under complete cover.

A thick blanket of police was reported in many parts of the old city. It has to be mentioned here that Bhagya Lakshmi temple alleged expansion allegedly trigerred tension in the old city. There were reportedly some news channels, which telecast a few stories on the alleged riots in the sensitive old city of Hyderabad. The information and public relation department reportedly confirmed that cases were filed against those news channels, which had run the stories.
