Onam welcomes 'Run Baby Run'

Onam fast approaching and the delight is multiplied with a block buster on the heels from the veteran Mohan Lal, Run Baby Run. This Onam has become more enjoyable with the release of this film. For all our Malayalee readers this film has been directed by Joshy. And you know the gorgeous Amala Paul is paired to our superstar in the film produced by Milan Jaleel for Galaxzy Films. And the most interesting part is, pshhh! Don't leak it out, I just overheard that the film is centered around media. With Mohan  Lal at the helm, there is sure entertainment all the way. The script by Sachi is sure to keep one pinned down with punch notes!

Onam the most exuberant festivals is no longer a regional one or pertained demographically only to Kerala. But it has become almost a national one, owing to the fact that the Malayali brethren are found every where and no one is short of them, due to their intelligent and logic advise they offer. Then we have the Ganesh Chathurthi on September 19. Paper Ganesha is going viral and it is good for the environment too. The moment we think of  Ganesh Chathurthi, we think of the big idols of the Lord and this time let us make it a point that we go with Eco Ganesha.

With Onam just 24 hours away the Keralites, nationally are on long shopping sprees. Markets across the metros are filled with them and the multiplex shopping zones are abreast with activity. Many have left for their home towns last night. As  the railways have pressed into service many special trains from the metros to Kerala. Many global Keralites have also reached the state to participate in the ten day ritual which was celebrated in reverence of King Mahabali who ruled the state some thousands of years ago. King Mahabali's era was considered as the golden era of the region. He was pushed to the Pathala by none other than the Lord Vishnu. But overwhelmed by the magnanimity of the great King the Lord granted him permission to visit his subjects once a year. And the visit is celebrated as Onam. The people from the God's own country are busy making preparations to welcome home King Mahabali, the benevolent king and grandson of Prahalad. They are inviting kiths and kin for Ona Sadhya, the grand feast they host on the festival day. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
