Dastagiri Booked in Minor Assault Case:- Sheik Dastagiri, an accused turned approver in former Kadapa MP YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case was allegedly booked for assaulting a minor boy in Pulivendala, Andhra Pradesh. A woman from the town has lodged a complaint against Dastagiri stating that Dastagiri has detained and assaulted her son. Police rescued the boy from Dasatagiri's residence at Jayamma Colony, Pulivendala. The minor boy has been admitted to Government Area Hospital in Pulivendala and undergoing treatment.
Kullayamma and her husband took a loan of Rs 40,000/- on interest from Dastagiri, as the couple failed to pay the interest, Dastagiri took away their son and detained him at his residence, alleged boy’s mother Kullayamma. Police are investigating Dasatagiri, however, he denied the allegations against him.
Sheik Dastagiri was a driver for YS Vivekananda Reddy at the time of his murder. Viveka mentioned his name in his death letter, however, CBI is investigating the case and checking the genuineness of the letter of Viveka as well. Dastagiri turned approver and claimed that YS Bhaskar Reddy and his son Kadapa YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy are the masterminds behind the murder. Dastagiri is out on bail and was provided security considering his threat. Dastagiri at his press meeting in April said that there is a threat to his life from the YS family (YS Jagan and YS Avinash Reddy).
