KCR to tour across Telangana:- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) recently held meetings with the party leaders and supporters and he is preparing the ground for the 2024 Assembly and Parliament polls. He said that the state would not head for early polls and he also is in ties with political strategist Prashant Kishor. KCR decided to take up a tour across Telangana and the tour starts next month. KCR will hand over one lakh 2 BHK houses that are constructed by the state government as a part of 'Dignity Housing Scheme'. The houses are allocated for the poor across all the districts of Telangana. KCR has been residing in his farmhouse from the past three weeks and he returned back to Pragati Bhavan on Monday.
KCR conducted a review meeting with the officials, ministers and leaders. He discussed about the pending projects and the officials updated KCR with the status of the 2 BHK homes in various districts. The Dignity Housing Scheme was launched by the government of Telangana in 2016-17 and Rs 8 lakhs are spent per home on an average. A total number of 2,91,057 houses are constructed for the poor covering all the constituencies. Rs 20,000 crores has been allocated by the Telangana government for the scheme. The project got delayed due to various reasons like the coronavirus pandemic, and financial stress. Most of the contractors were not ready to take up the project as the government was offering quite less after the prices of sand and cement touched the skies.
