Tamil Nadu government orders probe in Thanjavur chariot accident:- In a shocking incident, eleven people have been electrocuted during a religious procession that is held by the temple in Thanjavur. More than 15 people have been injured in the incident. The accident took place after the temple's chariot came in touch with a high transmission live wire and eleven people got killed on the spot. The incident created a sensation across Tamil Nadu and two children were among the dead. A case has been filed and the investigation is going on. More than 50 devotees have been walking on the road near to the chariot when the incident took place.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin ordered a probe in the incident and the Revenue Secretary Kumar Jayant was asked to inquire and submit a report in the Thanjavur chariot incident. The state legislature also adopted a resolution that is moved by the Chief Minister and expressed their condolences for the families of the deceased. The state's Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji said that the chariot got turned aside due to the heavy weight of the power generator that was attached to it. The upper portion came in touch with a 33kV transmission line. As the chariot was decorated with a metal frame, the upper portion caught fire. Chief Minister announced Rs 5 lakhs from CM's Public Relief Fund for the families of the deceased.
