KCR inaugurates Mallanna Sagar Reservoir:- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) inaugurated the prestigious Mallanna Sagar Reservoir project today for the nation. Mallanna Sagar Reservoir is a part of the Kaleshwaram project. KCR along with Harish Rao, Srinivas Goud, Raghunandan Rao and others performed a special puja at the Mallanna Sagar Reservoir and KCR released the water into Mallanna Sagar. With this all the reservoirs on the main truck of the Kaleshwaram project are completed. Mallanna Sagar Reservoir is the biggest in Kaleshwaram project with a storage of 50 tmc of water. The reservoir can provide water for 15.70 lakh acres in the North and southern part of Telangana. Eight pumps with a capacity of 43 MW each have been set.

In future, 30 tmc of water will be allocated for drinking to the people of Hyderabad through this reservoir told KCR. The Chief Minister of Telangana told that the Mallanna Sagar Reservoir can also provide water for the industrial needs of Telangana. KCR called Mallana Sagar Reservoir the mother of all reservoirs and it is the second biggest reservoir in Godavari river basin after Sriramsagar reservoir. The trial run for Mallana Sagar Reservoir started on August 22nd last year. Several MLAs, MLCs and ministers participated in the ceremony.
