Telangana Government Waives Loans For Six Lakh Farmers:- The government of Telangana waived off the crop loans of six lakh farmers of the state up to Rs 50,000 per farmer. The amount will be released to the farmers between 15th and 31st of this month. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao chaired a meeting with the state cabinet after which the decision was made. The implementation of the second phase of crop loan waiver scheme will be implemented this month. The crop loans of Rs 25,000 have been waived off in the first phase last year. The state government spent Rs 408 crores for the same. Rs 50,000 loans will be waived in the second phase and this too will take place this month.

Farm loans with Rs 75,000 will be waived in the third phase that will take place in 2022 and the crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh will be waived in the year 2023. Telangana Chief Minister KCR promised to waive off the crop loans during the 2018 Assembly elections. All the crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh for 36.8 lakh farmers are promised to be waived off. For the second phase, Rs 4900 crores will be spent for farm loans up to Rs 50,000 and six lakh farmers will get the benefit for the same. The government of Telangana spent Rs 25,000 crores between 2014 and 2018 to waive off the farm loans. The state cabinet also decided to start the prestigious Dalith Bandhu scheme from August 16th from the constituency of Huzurabad.
