YS Jagan launches Disha App for Women Awareness

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced Disha Police Stations and Disha App after a girl called Disha was brutally raped and killed in Hyderabad. YS Jagan launched Disha App today in the presence of hundreds of women in a public meeting that was held in Gollapudi village near Vijayawada. The women police will work as the ambassadors of Disha app told YS Jagan. He wanted every woman to download Disha app which can save them when they are in trouble. YS Jagan asked the officials to create awareness on the Disha app for every woman in the state.

Close to 17 lakh people have downloaded the app and all you need is a smartphone to use it. YS Jagan said that the app is a protective shield and can save everyone who are in danger. 18 Disha Police Stations are set up by the government of Andhra Pradesh and a new law was introduced. Several public prosecutors are appointed for Disha cases and special courts will soon be set up for these cases. Disha App can be downloaded from App Store or Play Store and it works with every smartphone.

Soon after the mobile number is entered, an OTP will be received that needs to complete the login process. All the details of address, emergency contact numbers and other details are needed. All the short videos recorded will be received by the Disha Command Control room when if any woman is in danger. The staff will alert the nearest police station and the protection team will trace the woman through the location provided. 'Track My Travel' can be used for the protection of women while traveling. One can dial to 100 and 112 which are emergency numbers.
