62,480 coronavirus cases reported in India:- A total number of 62,480 new cases for coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours and the total number of reported cases reached 2,97,62,793. 88,977 recovered or discharged in the country in the last 24 hours and the total number of recoveries in the country climbed to 2,85,80,647. For the first time in the recent weeks, the death toll in the country dipped down to less than the 2000 mark. A total number of 1587 people passed away in the last 24 hours and the total death tally reached 3,83,490. The total number of active cases for coronavirus are 7,98,656 and the active cases came down below 8 lakh mark after 73 days in India. The total number of vaccination doses taken by the people in India are said to be 26,89,60,399.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the work for 1500 oxygen plants in the country is underway and the oxygen will reach each and every district very soon. He also said that all the people aged above 18 years can take up the vaccination shot from June 21st and there would be no priority for the people who are aged above 45 years. Narendra Modi asked the people of the country to be extra cautious and the virus can mutate further. He said that the government is working towards preparing 1 lakh frontline workers in the country. The Centre launched six customized crash courses for coronavirus frontline workers under the program of Skill India. The total number of samples tested in India in total for coronavirus are said to be 38,7167,696 as per the reports from the Indian Council of Medial Research.
