Telangana Government Shuts All Schools And Colleges:- With the rise in the number of coronavirus cases, the Health Department of Telangana suggested the government to take a quick call on the closure of the schools and colleges in the state. It is estimated that more than 700 students are tested positive for coronavirus in the recent weeks. Telangana government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) took a quick call and announced the closure of all the schools and colleges from March 24th until further notice. The online classes will continue as usual told the government. Telangana Minister for Education Sabitha Indra Reddy issued a statement about the same and it is applicable for the government, private schools, colleges, hostels, government-run gurukuls and other educational institutions.

"The coronavirus cases witnessed a rise in the country. The situations in the neighboring states are alarming. Several students are tested positive in various schools of Telangana after which the government took the call. Due to the mass congregation of students, there is a possibility of the spread of coronavirus in the state. We also received several requests from the parents about the closure of the schools and colleges. Considering all these, we took the decision" told Sabitha Indra Reddy. A crucial meeting was held with Chief Minister KCR after which the final call was taken. There is a huge rise in the number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh from the past two weeks. Several other Indian states too announced the closure of the schools and colleges.
