Pandemic revealed Hyderabad's role as Vaccine Capital: KTR:- Hyderabad happened to be the hub of several pharmaceutical industries and this is widely exposed after the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic. Not only the country, several countries of the globe are relying on the vaccinations that are produced in Hyderabad. Telangana minister KTR called Hyderabad, the vaccine capital of the world calling it a matter of pride for the sttate as the entire world is looking towards India and Hyderabad. He made these comments when he inaugurated the 18th Edition of Bio Asia. "Visit of foreign envoys from over 60 countries and that of the Prime Minister to Genome Valley is a testimony to the cluster’s significance in the global context" told KTR.

KTR launched Bharat Biotech's contribution and commitment to develop the vaccine for coronavirus. He also said that Hetero and Dr Reddys are busy manufacturing the vaccine for coronavirus and soon they will be distributed across the globe. Aurobindo Pharma is also building a world class vaccination manufacturing facility with 450 million doses capacity. KTR said that the Life Sciences sector in Telangana attracted investments worth Rs 3700 crores in the last one year despite of the attack of coronavirus. This would develop 14,000 jobs in the state. KTR also said that he is extremely proud of the discovery of Umbralisib from Incozen's facility in the Genome valley. GVK Bio, Granules India, Ferring Pharmaceuticals Jamp Pharmaceuticals are all set to enter the Genome Valley soon.
