Farmers Protest: Centre Calls For Farmers Today:- A wave of farmers from the states of Punjab, Haryana and other neighbouring states rushed to the national capital New Delhi fighting for their rights. After the tense atmosphere reported all over, the Centre allowed them to enter into the national capital and the protests continued for five days. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar invited the farmer unions for discussion and the meeting would take place at 3 PM. The farmers warned of blocking all the five capital entries for NCR. The farmers have been protesting against the Centre's new farm laws and the protest reached fifth day by yesterday. The farmers reached Nirankarai Samagam Ground in Burari on Saturday and the protests continued.

The traffic in Delhi was disrupted because of the protests. The borders of Singhu and Tikri remained closed. 30 farmer groups met to discuss about their further course of action. Thousands managed to enter into the city after barricades were placed and tear gas was used. The farmers wanted to see an end for the three farm laws that were passed in the Parliament house this year. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh urged the Centre to consider the farmers and their course of action. He was surprised why Centre was not in a mood to listen to the farmers. The All India Taxi Union on Monday threatened to go on strike and support the farmers if the demands of the farmers are not met in the next two days.
