Narendra Modi to Lay a Foundation for the New Parliament Building:- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lay the foundation stone for the new Parliament building in December during the first half told sources. The new Parliament building will be constructed close to the existing premises. This new building will be constructed under Central Vista redevelopment project and is planned to be completed in the next 21 months after it starts construction. It comes with a triangular Parliament building along with a common Secretariat and 3-km long Rajpath from Rashtrapathi Bhavan to the India Gate.
The proposed date of the foundation stone ceremony is on December 10th, the final date will be locked as per the schedules of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There would be separate offices for all the MPs of the contry with latest digital intefaces and are planned to create paperless offices. The new Parliament will also have a Constitution Hall along with a lounge for MPs, Library, Dining regions, Committee rooms and enough parking space. Tata Projects won the bid to construct the Parliament building at a cost of Rs 861.90 crores. The existing building was designed and built by the British at a cost of Rs 83 lakhs in 1921.
