SII To Sell Oxford Vaccine At Rs 600 Per Dose?:- Serum Institute of India (SII) has been working with Oxford University to develop a vaccine for coronavirus. Serum Institute of India which happens to be the biggest manufacturer of vaccinations is keen to produce enough doses for the people of the country. Serum Institute of India announced that the vaccine for coronavirus would be available for Rs 500-600 per dose. SII SECO Adar Poonawalla revealed this yesterday at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. Adar said that the government of India will get the vaccine for a quite cheaper price as they would buy huge volumes of the doses. He said that the general public will have to pay Rs 500-600 per dose for the vaccine that would be available next year.

British firm AstraZeneca is in plans to provide 1 billion doses of the vaccine for the people of India. Adar Poonawalla said that SII is in plans for an emergency use authorization from the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) next month. Adar Poonawalla said that they are in plans for emergency licensure after they have gone through the UK results. If the final results of UK testing are good, the licensure would be applied. He said that the vaccine would be available in January or February and for the public, it would be available by March or April for the general public. SII is in plans to produce 300-400 million shots of two-dose vaccine ready by March or April 2021 for Indians. By February, SII would be able to produce 100 million doses per month. SII is not keen to sign agreements with other countries as the initial production should accommodate Indians.
