TDP Plans A Tough Fight In Tirupati Byelection:- With the demise of the sitting MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao in September this year, the byelection in the Parliamentary constituency will take place in Tirupati early next year. TDP is in plans to give a tough fight for YSRCP which is leading in the state. TDP is ready with the plan and fielded its candidate for the polls' way in advance. Senior leader and former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi will contest in the polls. YSRCP sources say that Durga Prasad's son Kalyan Chakravarthy will be the candidate for the party for the byelection. BJP is keen to join hands with Janasena and announce the candidate's name at the earliest.

Keeping an end to all the speculations, TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu announced that Panabaka Lakshmi will contest in the polls. Lakshmi lost to Durga Prasad Rao in the 2019 polls and Chandra Babu decided to field her in the polls. The stand of Congress is yet to be known but the political analysts say that there would be a triangular fight in the Tirupati byelection between YSRCP, TDP and Janasena. Congress may field Chinta Mohan who won the seat six times in the past. Tirupati Parliamentary segment has three Assembly constituencies from Chittoor district: Tirupati, Srikalahasti and Satyavedy. The other four constituencies fall in Nellore district and are said to be Venkatagiri, Sullurpeta, Gudur and Sarvepalli.

There are speculations that Panabaka Lakshmi will move out of the party but with the announcement of Chandra Babu, Panabaka Lakshmi would contest in the Tirupati Parliamentary byelection.
