Rs 8633 Cr Worth Crops Damaged in Telangana:- Telangana is the worst-hit state in the country because of the recent rains. While several structures, houses and roads got spoiled in Hyderabad, the crops across Telangana are damaged due to the unexpected rains. The crops loss was estimated at Rs 8633 crores and the loss of roads is expected to be at Rs 222 crores in the state. Telangana Chief Minister KCR urged the Centre to grant an immediate relief fund of Rs 1350 crores for the state. A five-member inter-ministerial team visited the state yesterday. The team had Praveen Vasishta, Joint Secretary of Indian government and Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar gave a PowerPoint presentation about the damage caused in the state due to the recent rains.
The presentation also explained about the relief measures taken by the government immediately and about the funds released by the Chief Minister. The loss incurred in the limits of GHMC is said to be Rs 567 crores. The excessive damage happened in and around Hyderabad. The Central team visited various parts of the city and got the glimpses of the relief activities along with the construction works of the roads that are going on. They also visited the submerged colonies in Hyderabad. The team will submit a detailed report to the Centre after which the final call would be taken about the relief fund that will be granted to the Centre.
