Bihar Elections to be held between October 28th and November 7th:- The Election Commission of India today announced that the Bihar Assembly polls will be held in three phases starting from October 28th. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced today and the Bihar polls will be held on October 28th, November 3rd and November 7th. The counting in the state will take place on November 10th. 71 seats will go for polls in the first phase, 94 seats in the second phase and elections would be held for 78 seats in the third phase. Bihar polls will be the largest polls in the world during this coronavirus pandemic time said Sunil Arora. He said that all the precautionary measures along with the social distancing guidelines would be followed during the polls.
Sunil Arora said that the elections time would be increased by one hour from 7 AM to 6 PM. Sunil Arora wanted everyone to make use of the social media platforms to question or complain about any issues during the polls. Model Code of Conduct (MCC) stands enforced with this announcement. The term of Assembly in Bihar will complete on November 29th. Bihar has a strength of 243 legislatures in the state. Seven lakh sanitizers, 46 lakh masks, 6 lakh PPE kits, 7.6 lakh units of face shields and 23 lakh units of hand gloves would be used during the Bihar Assembly polls. The Election Commission of India also decided to held 65 pending by-elections in the country along with one Lok Sabha by-election.
