Rs 750 Cr Funds For Polavaram Project Rejected:- The prestigious Polavaram project is expected to complete soon. In a shock for the government of Andhra Pradesh, the Centre rejected Rs 750 crores funds. Rs 12,505 crores have been spent by the government of Andhra Pradesh in the duration of April 2014 and July this year for the prestigious project in the state. The Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) rejected the reimbursement amount of Rs 750 crores for the state government which turned as a huge shock. Rattan Lal Kataria, the Minister of Water Resources for the state informed the same in the Parliament during the recent sessions. The question was raised by Andhra Pradesh MP Vijayasai Reddy.

Vijayasai Reddy told the Parliament that the Centre had reimbursed Rs 8577 crores till date and he raised the request to reimburse the pending funds. Rattan Lal Kataria informed that the Water Resources Minister received a letter from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and he sought early funds to complete the Polavaram project by the end of 2021. YS Jaganmohan Reddy in his letter said that the state required Rs 15,000 crores to complete the Polavaram project. He wanted the Centre to direct National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to approve the requested amount as a loan for the state. With the rejection of Rs 750 crores, the state government is left in shock.
