Hyderabad Receives Excess Rainfall During This Season:- Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana recorded a staggering 20mm of excess rainfall during this monsoon season. The records are analyzed as per the rainfall from the period of June 1st to August 19th. The monsoon rains are still yet to complete this year. Hyderabad has been receiving heavy rainfall from the past one week and the downpour has been huge between August 13th and 19th. Hyderabad reported 128mm of rainfall during the season and the total reached 540.9 mm as per the reports from the Indian Meteorological Department. All the three districts of Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad - Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri received huge rainfall.
The normal rainfall during the season of June 1st and August 19th is said to be 340mm every year. The Indian Meteorological Department also warned that the city would receive heavy rainfall in the coming week. All the lakes and the dams in the state are full because of the surplus rains in the season. Hyderabad is in plans to set up 40 automatic weather stations (AWS) in the region of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The project was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The work resumes soon. The Indian Meteorological Department has only two weather stations in the city: Begumpet and Golconda.
