Serum Institute Inks a Deal With Gates Foundation for 100 Million Coronavirus Vaccine Doses:- Serum Institute of India (SII) is way ahead in sealing the deals with the manufacturers of coronavirus vaccine. Serum Institute of India said that it received 150 million USD funding from the Bill and Melindia Gates Foundation and GAVI vaccines to make 100 million doses of coronavirus vaccine for India. Serum Institute of India says that the candidate vaccine including those from AstraZeneca and Novavax are priced at Rs 225 (3 USD) per done and will be available in 92 countries in GAVI's COVAX Advance Market Commitment (AMC), said Serum Institute of India in a statement. The funds of GAVI will be used to support the Serum Institute of India.

GAVI is a private and public global health partnership that is working to increase the access to immunization in the poor countries. COVAX is in plans to deliver 2 billion doses of effective coronavirus vaccine by the end of 2021. India emerged as the third country to have 2 million coronavirus cases in the globe. United States and Brazil are leading the list with the number of infections in the world. The total tally of coronavirus cases in India stands at 20,86,864 and the country registered over 5 lakh cases in 9 days.
