Theatres In Telugu States Not Ready To Reopen:- The Information and Broadcasting Ministery recommended the Union Home Ministry to grant the permissions to reopen the theatres across the country which are shut from March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Indian Multiplex Association wrote to the various ministries in the recent months explaining about the stress. With this, it is clear that the Centre will grant the permission to reopen the theatres in the country from August. The multiplex chains across the country would reopen and will screen limited shows with a limited audience.
But the Tollywood exhibitors and single screen owners are not ready to reopen the theatres anytime soon. They are well aware of the situations and reopening the theatres at this point of time would mount up the problems and financial burden on them. Most of the exhibitors feel that it would be wise to reopen the theatres only after the situations calm down. Some of them say that there are no number of releases and they would have to shut the theatres down again after a few weeks.
Even the producers who are ready with their projects are not ready to release them now because of the huge spread of coronavirus. They know that they would lose the theatrical revenues if they release their projects at this time. Tollywood distributors and exhibitors are ready to wait for some more time to get back to business. If the curve of coronavirus comes down by the end of August, Tollywood audience can expect some releases for Dasara this year.
