Glenmark Launches Drug To Treat Coronavirus Patients:- Glenmark Pharmaceuticals launched its antiviral drug named Favipiravir with the brand name FabiFlu which can be used to treat the patients of coronavirus. All the mild to moderate coronavirus patients can be treated with the drug which is priced at Rs 103 per tablet. A strip of 34 tablets will be available at Rs 3500 and each tablet comes with 200 mg. This is the first oral approved medication in India to treat the coronavirus patients. The tablets are sold only for a doctor's prescription and should be used with 1800 mg twice on day one.

It should be followed by 800 mg twice per day up to 14 days informed Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. Glenmark said that it could manufacture medication for 82,5000 patients in a month considering two strips per patient. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals informed that the drug will be sold in hospitals and in the retail channel. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals already received manufacturing and marketing approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI) informed Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Chairman and MD Glenn Saldanha. Glenmark said that this drug would provide relief for the patients at this much needed time. Glenmark also said that they would work close to the government to make FabiFlu accessible to patients across the country.
