National Green Tribunal Has A Shock For KTR:- The southern bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) based in Chennai shocked KTR after issued notices for the IT Minister along with the government of Telangana. They wanted a committee to examine about the violation of Government Order 111 which protects Himayatsagar and Osmansagar lakes in constructing a farmhouse in the region. KTR is said to have constructed a farmhouse in the region violating the rules in the catchment area. K Ramakrishnan and Saibal Das Gupta were dealing with the issue and are leading the bench.

Congress MP A Revanth Reddy filed the petition and the investigation is currently going on. The bench said that the committee should comprise of officials from the Union Ministry of Environment, State Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Forests and Climate Change along with the officials from GHMC and HMDA. The committee will find out if the farmhouse was constructed in the prohibited biodiversity region. The committee will also submit a report to the National Green Tribunal about the measures to be taken to restore the environment and about the compensation to be collected if the construction is illegal.
