Huge Mystery Over Jayalalithaa's Assets:- Tamil Nadu ex-Chief Minister Jayalalithaa passed away years ago but there is no clarity on her assets. The properties have fair market value and the battle for the assets is going on. Three figures are presented before Madras High Court. J Deepa and J Deepak, the legal heirs of Jayalalithaa said that the total value of the properties of their aunt was Rs 188 crores. Two AIADMK functionaries said that the assets of Jayalalithaa are said to be Rs 913.14 crores. During these arguments, some of them even said that they would even cross Rs 1000 crores. These figures are based on what Jayalalithaa acquired between 1991 and 1996. The properties that are added in these 25 years would be huge said a source.
Kodanad Estate, the favorite summer treat of Jayalalithaa is expanded across 900 acres and is bought in 1992. The market value of this tea estate is said to be Rs 1 crore per acre. The status of the 32 companies Jayalalithaa floated and their properties, assets of these companies are not known to the world. It is heard that Jayalalithaa had 173 properties and her name appears in 100 in the title deeds. It won't be easy for her legal heirs to find their share from those who companies in which Sasikala is named as a partner. After Deepa and Deepak will take over their share, the rest would be taken by the government of Tamil Nadu after Supreme Court convicted Sasikala and others in a corruption case. Deepa and Deepak are struggling to locate the properties owned by Jayalalithaa and take the possession of them. In the last election affidavit in 2016, Jayalalithaa declared Rs 113.73 crores in assets.
